How to find your smart TV’s IP address

Every smart TV shows its IP address somewhere in the network menu. Menu names change between models and years, so if a step doesn’t match, look for Network, Network status or About.

Samsung (Tizen)

Settings → General (or Connection) → Network → Network Status → IP Settings.

LG (webOS)

Settings → All Settings → General (or Network) → Network → Wi‑Fi Connection (or Wired Connection), then select your network or Advanced Wi‑Fi settings.

Google TV / Android TV (Sony, TCL, Hisense, Philips and others)

Settings → Network & Internet, then select the connected network. The IP address is listed. On some models it is under Settings → Device Preferences → About → Status.

Roku

Settings → Network → About shows the IP address, connection type and signal strength.

Amazon Fire TV

Settings → My Fire TV → About → Network.

Apple TV

Settings → Network. The IP address is shown on the network screen.

Find it from your router instead

Log in to your router (here’s how to find your router’s IP) and open the list of connected devices (often called DHCP clients, Attached devices or LAN status). The TV usually appears under its brand or model name.

Why you might need it

The TV’s address is a private IP. Streaming services see your public IP, which is shared by the whole house.
